Charise Greene started working for Sonya back in 2009 in Coordination and Administrations, as well as an on-site Organizer. A native of Laguna Beach, California, Charise is an actor who now lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband, two children, and four chickens. Having faced her own life transitions of losing her mother in her 20s, moving across the country, expanding into a larger apartment with the birth of her first baby, and upstate to a home with the birth of her second, Charise understands the power of Sonya’s work on a personal level and loves to chat with clients about their life transitions.

These are the paper maché globes I used to make in preschool, that I made with my children and have as decor on the shelves of our home. They are meaningful to me because the preschool I went to was created and curated by a woman who escaped the Holocaust as a child, and vowed to make a space where children all learn the value of love and life. We created so many beautiful things at that school. And I would bring the art home to my mother, who died when I was in my early 20s. Making these beautiful fragile globes with my children keep my mother and my teachers close, and remind me of our capacity to love, and the resilience of the human spirit.
